Fantasy Football 2009 Player Rankings - by fantasyfootballstarters co-founder Dana Valentine.

Every year about this time right after his good friend Russ Bliss starts cranking out fantasy football predictions, Dana takes on the task of his early top 50 fantasy football picks for the season. Granted, they will change but right before the NFL Draft- this is what he's bringing:

1. Michael Turner- A low miles RB in his fifth season with a QB to respect
2. Adrian Peterson- 1-B Defenses slowed him down near the end in 08
3. Maurice Jone-Drew- We know what he did in a limited role.
4. Steven Jackson-With the Signing of Karney expect a bounce back year.
5. Matt Forte- Solid all purpose back now with a QB.
6. Frank Gore-Injuries a concern but still the best offensive weapon on the team
7. DeAngelo Williams-Won’t touch his 08 stats, should still be good 1000 and 8
8. Chris Johnson- Expect to see more action in 09
9. Clinton Portis- He’s taken a beating may have another yr in the tank
10. LaDainian Tomlinson- See #9
11. Brian Westbrook- See #10
12. Larry Fitzgerald- I’ll take the 1000yrd 10 TD WR here
13. Andre Johnson- PPR I take him before Fitz
14. Joseph Addai-Passing game will return opening up the run
15. Drew Brees- Are you sure he’s good for 4000 and 30
16. Peyton Manning- I know is good for it, a bounce back year
17. Tom Brady-WR/RB need more time to recover from a knee,QB’s ???
18. Steve Slaton-at this point he is the Texans RB 1
19. Marion Barber- a lot of competition in that back field
20. Brandon Jacobs-could be a little low
21. Calvin Johnson-takes a short pass the distance
22. Kevin Smith-nice utility back, he’ll be on the field
23. Ryan Grant-lets see how camp goes and Brandon.Jackson
24. Reggie Wayne-I could move him up to #21
25. Greg Jennings-Third Year WR poised for a solid season.
26. Randy Moss-If Brady is really good to go
27. Marques Colston – Another 3rd yr poised for a bounce back year
28. Anquan Boldin-What a mess-does he hold out or get traded
29. Ronnie Brown-Another yr removed from a knee-
30. Roddy White –D’s focus to stop the ATL run game.
31. Steve Smith- It’s up to his QB but what a solid run game
32. Knowshon Moreno- should have an immediate impact
33. Chris Wells- should also have an immediate impact
34. T.J Houshmandzadeh- Will resurrect Matt’s career if he’s healthy
35. Dwayne Bowe- Another 3rd yr WR and the Haley factor
36. Wes Welker- A PPR stud
37. Pierre Thomas-No Deuce, Bush??
38. Kurt Warner-He’ll match the stats of the top 3 QB’s why so low then.
39. Jay Cutler- Sweet home Chicago, we’ll see
40. Darren McFadden-4th round should be value
41. Aaron Rodgers-Projecting a break out year
42. Philip Rivers- Needs some more weapons
43. LeRon McClain- McGahee has to be fading
44. Eddie Royal-Finally a Bronco
45. Tony Romo-I know there is a lot of Romosexuals out there, im not one!
46. Donald Brown- depending where he lands, could move up
47. Cedric Benson-showed up at the end of the season, should get all worked in 09
48. Terrell Owens- Wow, he broke my top 50
49. Shonn Greene-Another see where he lands
50. LeSean McCoy-just because!
